Hepatitis B
What?
Hepatitis B is a virus that affects the liver.
How it is caught?
Through contact with body fluids: unsafe sex, injecting with needles, tattoos and piercings. One of the biggest causes is unsterile medical or dental treatment. Hepatitis B is about 100x more infectious that HIV/AIDs.
What does it do?
Hepatitis B does not normally cause any symptoms. However, as it develops it causes loss of appetite, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. Long term problems include liver cancer or cirrhosis.
Can it be treated?
No.

How is it prevented?
Avoid activities such as unsafe sex, piercings and tattoos. In some instances it may be useful to carry a medical kit with sterile needles.
